"As time mounts into a stairway of years, I find it a privilege to descend these stairs to the steps that mark the founding of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. It is with noble pride I look back on the year 1920 and remember then-to-be brother fraternity, Phi Beta Sigma, as our most worthy companion. Five of us organized the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, January 16th, 1920,under the very competent and aspiring leadership of [Honorable Founder] Cleaver."
